April 2025 Starters (Mentors)

This page is designed for April Starters in 2025 i.e. those mentors who started mentoring an ECT part way through the academic year 2024-25. You will have started your two-year programme of mentor training in the Summer Term of 2025, after the Easter break.

Below is an outline of what mentor training you need to engage with and when you need to complete it. As you can see, by the end of last academic year, July 2025, you should have engaged with the Induction session and the first two Mentor Seminars - Modules 1 and 2.

This academic year 2025-26, you need to engage with Mentor Seminars 3 and 4 in the Autumn term, and 5 and 6 in the Spring term. In the Summer term 2026, you will start Year 2 of the Mentor Training programme, engaging with the Year 2 Mentor Induction sessions.

It is important that you have engaged with each of the modules by the dates shown above. At the end of each recorded seminar (module), there is a QR code and/or link which you must complete to register your engagement with the mentor training. Failure to do so will mean that your school will not receive the funding to cover your meeting time with your ECT and your training. You are, of course, able to watch the recorded seminars ahead of the schedule. Each seminar recording is only approximately 30 minutes long.
