English Curriculum support for primary schools in Surrey
The Whiteknights English Hub provides practical support, and resources, for primary schools across Surrey. They are one of the 34 English Hubs launched by the Department for Education in 2018, chosen for their excellence in teaching of Early Language and Reading through Systematic Synthetic Phonics.
Whiteknights offers free support that focuses on early language development, age-appropriate phonics provision and reading.
There are several ways that you can work with the Whiteknights English Hub:
- Attend a virtual showcase to see phonics teaching in action, and find out how the hub can support your school.
- Attend free training webinars Book a Course - Booking by Bookwhen
- Sign-up for a Work Group
- Request in-school support. The hub can work with you to review your phonics and early reading provision, and provide practical ideas for improving this provision. Depending on your school’s context, you may be eligible for additional funding for resources and an in-school Literary Specialist.
