The internship was an amazing experience! It covered a wide range of aspects to teaching and solidified for me the career I wish to pursue. I was able to experience teaching in secondary and primary schools, learn about the pastoral care and even teach a few classes myself. Everyone is welcoming and helpful and whether you are considering teaching or not it is an opportunity I’d recommend anyone to take.
My experience of the TSE internship was incredibly valuable. I particularly loved that on the training days we were given talks by several different people from the field of education from support staff to members of the Department for Education. The training at Salesian really laid down good foundations for us to be able to use in our home schools. Visiting various different schools in the area for me was the highlight as we got to witness different but equally interesting ways of teaching and different school systems (especially visiting primary school!). The Internship confirmed my passion for teaching and opened a lot of doors for me, I even went on to be a Learning Support Assistant at my home school! I would definitely recommend the Internship to anyone who has even a slight interest in teaching as you will be in love with it by the end of the programme!
